Tent footprints make packing up at the end of your stay much easier. A footprint is a second groundsheet that you place under your tent, the reason for this is tents these days have a sewn in groundsheet which needs to be nice and clean when you roll your tent up at the end of your stay. A footprint allows this to happen by keeping the underside of the sewn in groundsheet nice and clean.
